AirTrap® Swabs are sterile, individually sealed swabs for exactly these spots, each analysed by our partner lab Sporecyte™ with a report per sample. When to use swabs
AirTrap® Swabs and AirTrap® XL cassettes answer different diagnostic questions. Use the swabs when you want to
- identify visible growth
- examine suspicious stains or discolouration
- check hard-to-reach spots – air-conditioning units, ventilation ducts, joints, the underside of sinks, behind fitted units
- take spot samples at several locations in one property
For an assessment of the airborne spore load – the concentration in the room air – use the AirTrap® XL Starter Complete Set or the AirTrap® XL Refill Pack instead.
How it works
- Sample: take the sterile swab out of its sealed pack, wipe the surface in question and close it in its protective sleeve.
- Send: post the swabs to our partner lab in the prepaid return envelope.
- Receive: your Sporecyte™ report arrives by e-mail within a few working days of the sample reaching the lab.
