One cassette, three ways to buy: cassettes only for your own lab, cassettes with an AI lab report, or the complete set with pump – 8 or 24 samples each.
The AirTrap® XL cassette is a spore trap for any 15 l/min pump: slit impaction onto a gel-coated slide, 2–200+ µm, individually sealed. You only decide who analyses – your lab or our ISO/IEC 17025-accredited partner lab Sporecyte™ – and whether the pump comes with it.
Which version?
- Without lab analysis – cassettes for surveyors and laboratories that do their own microscopy or use a lab of their choice. The lowest price per cassette.
- With AI lab report – every cassette analysed by the Sporecyte™ partner lab: total spore count, spores/m³ per genus against the outdoor reference, PDF report within 48 hours of the samples reaching the lab, prepaid return envelope included.
- Complete set with pump – the same cassettes and reports plus the Sporecyte™ air sampling pump (15 l/min, 5-minute timer) and mains adapter. Cheaper than pump and cassettes bought separately.
Which pack size?
- 8 samples – one or two properties, every room in question plus an outdoor reference.
- 24 samples – for clearance measurements and portfolio work, the lowest price per sample.
What you get
- Without lab analysis: 8 or 24× AirTrap® XL sampling cassettes, individually sealed
- With AI lab report: additionally 8 or 24× Sporecyte™ lab reports and prepaid return envelopes to our partner lab
- Complete set: additionally 1× Sporecyte™ professional air sampling pump (15 l/min, 5-minute timer) and 1× 12 V mains adapter
How it works
- Sample: fit an AirTrap® XL cassette to the pump and run it for 5 minutes (75 litres).
- Send (versions with AI lab report): register the samples in the online return form and post the cassettes to the lab in the prepaid return envelope.
- Receive: your Sporecyte™ report arrives by e-mail within 48 hours of the samples reaching the lab – or read your own slides under the microscope.
Method, lab and standards
- Method: total spore count by particle sampling on a slit-impaction cassette – the sampling principle described in DIN ISO 16000-20.
- Lab: Sporecyte™ partner lab – AI-assisted spore identification, every result reviewed by a specialist.
- Values: spores/m³ per genus, compared against an outdoor reference sample. The report is the sampling evidence for your assessment; it does not replace it.
- Sampling and documentation are guided by the German UBA mould guideline (2024 edition) and, for clearance measurements, WTA leaflet 4-12.
Features
- Integrated caps on inlet and outlet – no lost caps, minimal contamination risk
- Optimised slit-impaction design for even particle distribution and higher analytical accuracy
- AI analysis with human review – every result checked by a specialist before the report is issued
- Robust polypropylene housing – field-ready and safe in transit
- Up to 46 % less plastic than comparable competitor cassettes
- Fits the Sporecyte™ pump and every standard 15 l/min spore-trap pump
Applications
- Mould and indoor air quality (IAQ) assessment – detects mould spores, pollen, skin cells, construction dust, combustion particles and other airborne particles
- Property surveys – identifying mould and contaminants from building damage, construction defects or failed remediation
- Cleanroom monitoring – low-level detection of biological and inorganic contamination
Technical data
- Flow rate: 15 litres per minute (l/min)
- Sampling time: 5 minutes
- Particle size range: 2 µm to 200+ µm
- Cassette shelf life: 12 months, stored dry at room temperature
- Pump (complete set): 5-minute automatic timer, 12 V mains or battery operation, tripod thread
